The United States gives Israel more military, financial, and diplomatic support than it gives any other country on earth, and has for most of a century. The stated reason is that Israel is among America's closest and most reliable allies.

This archive collects the documented cases that sit uneasily with that premise. Every one is drawn from the public record: declassified files, court judgments, sworn testimony, government financial statements, and the on-the-record words of the officials involved.

What counts as a case

Two kinds of episode qualify, and they are not the same claim.

The first is conduct. An Israeli government, military, or intelligence body did something that damaged a concrete American interest. A warship attacked. An agent run inside the Pentagon. Weapons-grade uranium that left an American plant. Defense technology paid for by American taxpayers, resold to a country the Pentagon plans against.

The second is the American side. What Washington did once it knew, and how the policy came to be set this way to begin with. Statutes that bind every other nation and are somehow never triggered. Registration requirements enforced against foreign lobbies generally and this one rarely. Prosecutions that end in clemency. Private money large enough to make the position safe to hold. This is the half of the record that gets written about least, and it is at least as revealing as the first.

Where the facts come from

Primary government records first: declassified cables, court dockets and sentencing transcripts, statute text, budget tables, official statements made on the record. Established reporting and peer-reviewed scholarship second, to corroborate and supply context. Nothing here rests on an anonymous claim, a single unverifiable source, or a chain of inference dressed up as a finding.

Where the evidence is strong but not conclusive, the case says so. Where an official denial exists, it is quoted rather than paraphrased away. Where someone was investigated but never charged, that is stated plainly. The point of view here is in the selection of cases. It is not in the facts, which are reported as the record has them, including the parts that cut against the argument.
